Cows dare us to survey the area they're standing on.

While looking for artefacts, Donna finds $20. ... In a cow's "refuse."

A spread of washed artefacts, from one of our rained out days.

Charlene cleans artefacts in the lab.

Never clean anything that can look you in the eye!

A wandering dog becomes an archaeologist for the day.

We find ordinary-looking fields like this, stuffed with artefacts.
So fantastic and interesting everything that you are doing. I just came back from Louisbourg and it is amazing how they reconstructed everything from plans and how many artifacts. I look forward to following you guys. Maybe I can come by and see what you are doing some time. Really interesting.
Feel free to contact me. Cynthia@novascotia.com. I’m following you on twitter too. I’m CynatNovaScotia.

We’re so glad you enjoyed both reading our blog and visiting Louisboug! It truly is a great place and we thank you for your enthusiam. Unfortunately, we are working on privately owned land right now and as such, we won’t be able to accommodate visitors. But if you’re looking to quench your thirst for all things archaeology I strongly suggest you visit the Grand-Pré National Historic Site of Canada (http://www.grand-pre.com/grandpresitedevelopment/en/Site.html). We’ve left our digs open so that the public can get a real taste of the archaeology there. Also, if you show up after next Monday, we will have mounted a display case in the visitor’s center showcasing our finds from this and subsequent years. We hope to see you there Cynthia, take care.
