WHAT IS THE MYSTERY ARTEFACT SEEN IN THE PICTURE BELOW?
ANSWER: The artefact seen in the picture below is a covered button. The cloth cover has largely disintegrated and unraveled, leaving us with this neat, spider-looking hybrid of thread and metal. No winner this week, but thanks to all for the guesses, and please have a go at the new mystery artefact.

The scale is in centimeters, with a standard plastic knife to help furthur orient you. Good luck!
Make your guesses in the comments below. Please include your name and geographic location in your post, so that we can post your name and city, if you guess correctly.
Good luck, armchair archaeologists!
